** the day i covered this mission, i had the flu. i was wearing layers upon layers of clothes and was a cross of freezing and burning up from being sick and exposed to the just-above-freezing temperatures. nonetheless, you embrace the suck and get the job done. i was fun photographing 10th special forces. the shots turned out pretty well so it was a good day. =)
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Holding the static line in a “reverse bite,” paratroopers assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) wait for the command to exit a CH-47D Chinook at Fort Carson, Colo. December 10. A 10th SFG (A) jumpmaster peers out of the back of the Chinook looking for the drop zone. Once over the drop zone, a Dutch jumpmaster gives commands to the American paratroopers in accordance with Dutch standards. Operations like this help sustain and foster a good working relationship with the Dutch, said a 10th SFG (A) operations officer. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Liesl Marelli) (Released)
